Baumwollbaum 2023

On 9 December 2023, a cotton tree was once again held at Chemnitz Brühl. Musicians, artists and craftspeople once again celebrated a small festival together with numerous visitors. In a pre-Christmas atmosphere, visitors could try their hand at various creative techniques, relax with warm mulled wine or take part in the varied stage programme. Young and older visitors alike took advantage of the programme, which ranged from clothes up-cycling with Lisa Diehl, plaster casting techniques with Jens Ossada, lampiondesing with Michael Drosdek, carving with the children's workshop, spray paint with Marcel Friedrich and a gift exchange stand to making creative Christmas decorations with Mel and much more.

The Asphaltraketen, Knut Kielmann, TinaE & Band, Jim Bohy and others took to the stage. A magic show with Huxlifax went down particularly well with the younger audience. There was also plenty of cultural entertainment: the vernissage of the "See the Unseen!" exhibition took place in the Rebel Art Gallery. Works by 11 different artists could be rediscovered in an unorthodox way. All in all, Baumwollbaum 2023 once again showed that the combination of art, music, handicrafts and neighbourhood culture can create a wonderful and relaxed form of encounter.
